Gamescom returns to Koelnmesse as the biggest event on the games calendar — 2025 drew a record 357,000 visitors and 1,568 exhibitors across 233,000 square metres, and 2026 registrations are up roughly 15% from more than 40 countries. Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live opens the week, the industry's marquee trailer showcase (72 million views in 2025). Expect Nintendo, Xbox, Ubisoft, CD Projekt Red, Capcom and Bandai Namco on the floor, a massive Indie Arena Booth, and packed esports and cosplay halls. PlayStation hasn't held a booth since 2019, so its presence — if any — comes via a separate stream. Xbox's 25th anniversary and a multiplatform "everywhere" pitch is a storyline to watch.
