What to expect

IBC returns to the Amsterdam RAI on 11–14 September 2026, and it remains the industry's center of gravity: roughly 1,300 exhibitors and 40,000-plus attendees from over 170 countries filling 14 halls with the full production-to-distribution stack — cameras and content-creation gear, media infrastructure, and broadcast and streaming platforms. This year the through-line is unmistakably AI moving from demo to deployment: agentic assistants, generative tooling, and automated highlight creation now sit alongside the show's durable themes of cloud-native and IP workflows, content provenance, cyber security, low-latency streaming, private 5G, and sustainability. Vendors like Harmonic, MediaKind, and the SMPTE and Accelerator programmes historically use IBC to unveil live-sports and streaming breakthroughs, with Future Tech in Hall 14 spotlighting startups and pioneering demos.

ConvCast trains its cameras on the moments that travel: the conference keynotes framing AI's role in the newsroom and the edit bay, the show-floor product reveals in halls 1–4, and the Future Tech and Accelerator demos where next-gen ideas debut. Our angle is the working journalist's floor walk — real workflows, real latency numbers, and the one trend worth watching: whether AI in media graduates from booth spectacle to shipping production tool.
